Drive Not To Drive (DNTD)
Thank you so much for participating, it was a huge success! Check out the articles about us: article 1, article 2.
The average American car consumes 600 gallons of gasoline and produces 12,000 pounds of carbon dioxide per every year (source: Environmental Defense Fund).
A sustainable future will require a drastic change in our everyday travel habits.
Not driving for a week will allow you to reexamine the role automobile transportation plays in your life, and let you decide if it is really necessary on a daily basis.
Drive Not To Drive first started in 2006. As we step into the fourth year of this annual tradition, we invite you to join us to reducing your carbon PAWpint by accepting the challenge.
How Do I Participate?
- Sign a pledge form at any sign-up location or fill out the form below.
- Take a DNTD envelope at the sign-up locations, from our office at Hollister Hall 107, or print one out here.
- On April 15, seal your car keys in the envelope and start your week of walking, biking, and busing (No, we don't actually take away your car keys).
- On Earth Day, April 22, open the envelope and reflect on the week's experience. Join us on Ho Plaza for an Earth Day celebration.
